We began the Christmas season very soon after Thanksgiving this year with our Life Group Christmas Party. We had our celebration so early because Anna-Grace was due to arrive on December 5th, so we knew that the Groths would have plenty going on during the month of December.
The Groths were kind enough to host all of us this year! The kids made Advent chains to help them count down to Christmas. Each link had a Bible verse from the Christmas Story on it so that the kids could read the Christmas Story in order as they counted down the days to Christmas.
The kids had fun opening the ornaments that the Groths had bought each of them and eating dinner at their own party table in the basement. Later, they all watched a Christmas movie while snuggled up in their pajamas with blankets and stuffed animals. Lots of Christmas fun with their friends!
It's funny to think that at our first Life Group Christmas party six years ago, we only had three of these kids - Madelyn, Caroline, and Austin. I was pregnant with Allison at the time. And in our Christmas picture next year, we will have added two more with Anna-Grace and Baby Boy Underwood!
To add to the fun of the evening, the girls had a gift exchange and an ornament exchange. We got a cute Christmas tree ornament from Lennie and Brad. And Lennie also had my name in our gift exchange. She got me a beautiful, sparkly royal blue scarf, a little plaid tote and a few other little goodies - very fun!
We are so thankful for our Life Group friends and can't imagine life without them. We look forward to many more Christmas parties with them in the years to come!
I love seeing all those sweet kids at the table. Your LG is passing on the gift of friendship to those children. Being in a small group is crucial to Christian couples. Happy New Year to the Coys!
