On August 10th, Allison had her first day of kindergarten. Here she is with Lindsey before Matt took her to school.
We were really worried about Allison starting school this year because it's a new school with new teachers and new kids. She had such a rough time adjusting to preschool last year. She was a little nervous the first day or so, but she has LOVED school ever since! We are so thankful. It sure makes for calmer mornings and evenings for all of us! Allison loves her teacher Ms. Tullar and comes home every day telling us about the neat things that she does.
She also comes home giving us an update on her new best buddy Braydon! One day, she said that Braydon asked her to marry him and that she said, "Yes!" After hearing that, we started rethinking about whether we were really glad that she was loving kindergarten so much! No, really, we are thrilled that she loves school and that she is making friends.
I know that she'll learn plenty this year because she's like a little sponge, but my main goal is for her to leave kindergarten loving school. It seems like she's on the right track so far! I have been impressed with her learning so far even though she's just finished the first month of school. She already knows about eight sight words and is helping me read some of the words when I'm reading her bedtime stories. It's so fun to watch her learn and be motivated to learn more!
