A Fall Update

We have had a very low-key, relaxing Fall so far! Last month, Matt and I spent a few afternoons and evenings tailgating with awesome food and friends and watching football which is always a ton of fun. While we were at the football games on those days, the girls had a blast with their babysitters, Emily and Brenna, baking cupcakes, painting fingernails, playing outside, and watching movies!
Allison still LOVES kindergarten! Everyday she comes home singing new songs, reading new words, and talking about new friends. She is such a different child than she was at this time last year. We are SO thankful that she is having such a positive school experience! One day a couple of weeks ago, Allison came home saying that she "got caught!" She had done very well on her story writing at school, so her teacher "caught her" doing well and gave her a special sticker. At the end of the week, she was called to the office and recognized by the principal for "getting caught." Allison was VERY excited and proud of herself!
She is doing so well learning to read. I think that she knows about 20 sight words by now and is using them in her writing, too. She cracks me up at bedtime because when she's reading me a story, she questions me to see if I can name the front cover, the back cover, the spine, and the title page of the book. She also licks her finger quickly before turning some pages because "that's what Ms. Tullar does!" We may have a future teacher on our hands!
Can I just say that I LOVE this little face?! I cannot get enough of her! Lindsey is daily developing this little personality. She is laid back and happy most of the time but will show her mad face, stomp around and pout, saying "I'm mad." It's hilarious! She still loves to dance and starts swinging her hips back and forth whenever she hears music. She loves to sing and loves to be sung to before bed. Her favorites are "Jesus Loves Me," "Pit Pit Patter," "Jesus Loves the Little Children," "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," "Bible Words," and "Twinkle, Twinkle."
Lindsey is also in the stage of mimicking everything that Allison does, as she was doing in this picture. Allison is a great big sister and usually doesn't mind when Lindsey is following her around. They play house and school together which is quite entertaining to watch, especially when Allison gets frustrated when they are playing school because Lindsey can't read the words that Allison has written on the white board. I usually get to play the part of the grandma or the babysitter Miss Emily! Matt and I are so thankful to have these two sweet little girls that love us, love each other, and are developing a love for Jesus!
