Christmas Fun

December was a very relaxing month for us. Usually, it's pretty busy and we feel like we're going from one thing to another. But this year, a lot of our hustle and bustle was done the first weekend, and we were able to enjoy the season for the rest of the month. It was really nice!

Growing up, I always enjoyed that my parents got my brothers and me a new Christmas ornament each year. When I got married, I took all of those ornaments with me and now decorate my own tree with them. It's always fun to get my ornaments out each year and remember all of the memories that are tied to them! Because this family tradition is special to me, I decided to continue it with the girls. I also get Matt a new ornament each year. This year, Matt got a UK foam finger ornament which he liked! Because Allison danced in her first Nutcracker this year, I got her a Nutcracker ornament that plays the Nutcracker Suite while Clara dances as she's holding her nutcracker doll. Allison loved it! And Lindsey got an ornament with a picture of the characters from her favorite T.V. show - Bubble Guppies. She, of course, loved hers as well!
As usual, we did lots of baking this year. My two little helpers made sure to wear their aprons...and sunglasses for some reason! We made a few different kinds of cookies and enjoyed them all.
We made a new cookie this year - Chocolate Cherry Kisses - so good! They were a cherry shortbread cookie with chunks of maraschino cherries and a chocolate kiss on top. I LOVED them!

We also made the usual Christmas cut-out cookies - sprinkles, sprinkles, and more sprinkles!
